PhD Programme in International Studies 2016-17. Call for 5 PhD Scholarships (3 years)

This Call is for 5 PhD Student Scholarships in International Studies funded by the University of Trento.
The main requirements are:
• a high level of English language competency (at least C1);
• an outstanding CV;
• a proposal to do original research in the field of international studies.
See the website for all details and link to the online application. In particular, candidates are asked to include a short summary of their proposed research (2.000 words max.) and a motivation letter.
The PhD Programme, entirely in English, is characterized by a strong interdisciplinary approach; it includes structured coursework (mainly first year) as well as periods for individual research abroad.
The programme provides students with excellent and advanced understanding of complex international processes in a rapidly changing world, and increases opportunities for employment as advanced researchers in university and international research centers, governmental or non-governmental organizations at European and international levels, as well as private companies operating globally.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who hold a Master’s Degree in one of the core disciplines of International Studies (mainly, but not limited to, Law, Economics, Political Science and Sociology, Humanities, History and Philosophy).
Candidates who expect to be awarded their Master’s degrees by 29 July 2016 may also apply.
An advanced knowledge of the English Language (at least C1 level) is required.

Funding notes:

Applications invited from candidates from all nationalities.
Scholarships are paid for three years with a yearly amount of € 13,638.47.
The scholarship is increased by 50% during study periods abroad. Interruptions in the attendance of the School longer than 30 days entail the suspension of scholarship payments.
