Overview
Applications are invited from applicants with an interest in pursuing a PhD in any area of Law in which the School offers supervision.

Person Specification
The award is available to UK, EU and international applicants.
Applicants must hold a minimum of either a very good 2.1 or 1st class undergraduate degree in Law.
If English is not your first language, you must have IELTS 7 with at least 6.5 in the written component.
The successful candidate must take up their scholarship at the start of the 2016/17 academic year. It will be a condition of the award that they undertake undergraduate seminar teaching within the Law School, to a maximum not normally exceeding an average of 6 hours per week during semester 1 and 2 of the academic year.

Funding information

Value:
100% full-time tuition fees at the UK/EU rate and living expenses at Research Council UK rates, currently £14,296, per year.

- insert the studentship code LAW06 in the studentship/partnership reference field
- attach a covering letter, CV and research proposal. The covering letter must state the title of the studentship, quote reference code LAW06
- attach certificates and, if English is not your first language, a copy of your English language qualification
Applications will be considered on their merits, including further education at Masters level, a publication record, professional qualifications or relevant work experience. Candidates who have already applied for a place on the PhD programme from September 2016 will be considered and need not reapply.
