Our cutting-edge research will shape our work, and will ensure the Institute for Design Innovation remains at the forefront of its discipline. Our PhD students have the opportunity to work with top researchers and gain first-hand experience of real-life problem solving.
Loughborough University London is offering over 5 studentships within the Institute of Design Innovation to fund research projects in:
• Value: Design Innovation and Value Creation
• Meaning: The Design-Driven Innovation of Meaning
• Delivery: Designing Public Policy and Services
• Practice: How We Design, What We Design, and Who Designs?
• Emerging: Exploring New Design Contexts
The studentships include the full cost of tuition fees for the duration of your 3-year programme, as well as a tax-free stipend of £16,296 (inclusive of London weighting) for UK, EU and International students. The stipend will be paid in monthly instalments for the duration of your PhD.
The Institute for Design Innovation will allocate 3 studentships to UK/EU applicants and 2 studentships to international applicants.

Location
Loughborough University London is located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, within a new innovation quarter known as Here East. Overlooking the Lee Navigation Canal in the north west of the Olympic Park and surrounded by unrivalled green space, Here East was developed from the former Press and Broadcast Centers hosting the world’s media during the London 2012 Games. Now the site is a hub for the UK’s thriving creative and digital industries.
