PhD funded studentship in ‘The lived experience of learning environments.’

The University of Lincoln is offering a funded PhD studentship opportunity within the School of Sport and Exercise Science.
The successful candidate will investigate a specific learning environment, such as, initial teacher training opportunities, continual professional development, somatic/sensory learning, or socialisation into physical cultures, with a goal to improve stakeholders’ understandings and enhance actions or policies in the chosen area.
Applicants from sociology, sport sociology, social anthropology, physical education, teacher education, professions allied to medicine or cognate areas are eligible to apply. Substantial experience of qualitative research is essential, and a knowledge of phenomenology is desirable, dependent upon the environment to be investigated.
Applicants should have a first or upper second class honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant area. Applicants with a relevant Masters are particularly welcome. Suitably qualified candidates worldwide may apply, although International students must self-fund the difference between the International and UK/EU fee rate. Applicants should possess excellent report writing and English language communication skills and an ability to work to deadlines.
Tuition Fees included (capped at UK/EU fee level)
Stipend/Living allowance: £14,296 per annum
Start date 3rd October 2016
Duration: 36 months
