International Student Tuition Waiver at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, USA

International students are not eligible for federal financial aid.  However, new incoming international undergraduate students may apply for an International Student Tuition Waiver.  These tuition waivers are competitive in nature; students who meet the minimum requirements are not necessarily guaranteed a tuition waiver, as there are a limited number available in any given year.  As a result of the large number of students applying for these tuition waviers, students should NOT count on the international tuition waiver when completing the Affidavit of Financial Support. Please refer to the eligibility criteria and the application instructions below.
How to Apply for an International Student Tuition Waiver
To apply for an international tuition waiver, please complete the International Student Tuition Waiver Application and submit it to the Office of International Admissions. For preferred consideration, please submit by the deadline: March 1 for August admission and November 1 for January admission. After this date, applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please be aware that tuition waiver amounts are subject to change without notice.
Students will only receive one tuition waiver, but they will be awarded the highest waiver possible based on eligibility and availability. International student tuition waiver applications received after the deadline will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Academic Excellence Tuition Waiver (Full tuition*/year)
*Student is still responsible for paying fees, room & board, as well as personal expenses
Minimum Requirements:

• Completed International Student Tuition Waiver Application form
• One letter of recommendation
• Minimum SAT score of 1200 (critical reading & math)
• Above average high school achievement, as determined by the Office of International Admissions
• Demonstrated efforts to contribute to the local community through participation in activities and/or programs

Renewal Requirements:

• Must maintain continuous full-time enrollment at KU
• Must maintain a 3.0 GPA at KU

Academic Achievement Tuition Waiver ($8,000/year)
Minimum Requirements:

• Completed International Student Tuition Waiver Application form
• One letter of recommendation
• Minimum SAT score of 1050 (critical reading & math)
• Above average high school achievement, as determined by the Office of International Admissions
• Demonstrated efforts to contribute to the local community through participation in activities and/or programs

Renewal Requirements:

• Must maintain continuous full-time enrollment at KU
• Must maintain a 2.5 GPA at KU

International Diversity Tuition Waiver ($6,000/year)
Minimum Requirements:

• Completed International Student Tuition Waiver Application form
• One letter of recommendation
• Demonstrated efforts to contribute to the local community through participation in activities and/or programs

Renewal Requirements:

• Must maintain continuous full-time enrollment at KU
• Must maintain a 2.5 GPA at KU

Graduate Assistantships

While graduate students are not eligible for and international tuition waiver, they may apply for a graduate assistantship.  A graduate assistantship provides a full tuition waiver for up to 9 credit hours and stipend for the academic year.
