The Institute for Sport Business at Loughborough University London aims to consolidate Loughborough's position as a world-class institution for teaching and research by transferring the University’s success to the business of sport.
PhD students will undertake theoretically informed research that will bridge the gap between research, practice and policy. They will be supervised by internationally acknowledged sport business researchers and provided with a nurturing research environment that facilitates high quality research training.
Loughborough University London is offering over 5 studentships within the Institute for Sport Business to fund research projects in:
• Leadership, Innovation and Culture
• Leadership in Sport and other Contexts
• Women and Leadership
• Race, Ethnicity and Leadership
• Servant Leadership and Sport
• Leadership and the Sport Sector
The studentships include the full cost of tuition fees for the duration of your 3-year programme, as well as a tax-free stipend of £16,057 (inclusive of London weighting) for UK, EU and International students. The stipend will be paid in monthly instalments for the duration of your PhD.
The Institute for Sport Business will allocate 3 studentships to UK/EU applicants and 2 studentships to international applicants.

Loughborough University London is located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, within a new innovation quarter known as Here East. Now the site is a hub for the UK’s thriving creative and digital industries.
